Cancer Screening's
Whether you have, have had, or just want pre-screened for certain cancers we have the lab test you need.
Prostate-specific Antigen (PSA)
Elevated concentrations of serum PSA have been observed in men diagnosed with prostate cancer, benign prostatic hypertrophy, and inflammatory prostate conditions.
CA15-3
CA 15-3 plays a valuable role in monitoring patients with metastatic breast cancer and specific ovarian cancers. Sequential CA 15-3 values demonstrate a strong correlation with the clinical progression in the majority of patients with metastatic breast cancer.
CA 125
The CA 125 level offers valuable prognostic information for the follow-up management of patients with ovarian carcinoma. It should be utilized as an additional test in the overall management of ovarian cancer patients. However, CA 125 is not advisable as a cancer screening procedure for detecting cancer in the general population.
CA 27.29 Chiron/Bayer
CA 27.29 may be useful for monitoring patients for metastatic breast cancer.
CEA
Increased serum CEA levels have been detected in persons with primary colorectal cancer and in patients with other malignancies involving the gastrointestinal tract, breast, lung, ovarian, prostatic, liver and pancreatic cancers. Elevated serum CEA levels have also been detected in patients with nonmalignant disease, especially patients who are older or who are smokers. CEA levels are not useful in screening the general population for undetected cancers. However, CEA levels provide important information about patient prognosis, recurrence of tumors after surgical removal, and effectiveness of therapy.
