Allergy Screening's

Our allergy panels can help you identify the allergen causing the problems. When you know the allergen it helps prevent allergic reactions and future exposures. With your test results you can take them to your primary care provider and they can tailor a treatment plan based on your specific allergy.

Respiratory Allergy

Up to 90% of children and 60% of adults with asthma are affected by underlying allergies, commonly to trees, grasses, molds, and animals. Allergy respiratory IgE blood tests aid in diagnosing allergic diseases like asthma, allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis, atopic dermatitis, and urticaria. When the whole allergen dog/cat protein extract is positive, the dog and/or cat dander component panel, which uses individual recombinant proteins, is automatically run to improve specificity and differentiate actual pet allergies from cross-reactive ones.

Gluten IgE

This test measures IgE response to gluten and aids in diagnosing food allergy when used with other clinical information. It is recognized as a preferred option in some clinical situations. A positive result indicates IgE sensitization to the food but doesn't confirm symptoms upon ingestion. A diagnosis of food allergy should be made after a thorough clinical evaluation by a trained medical provider. Food-specific IgE test results contribute to the assessment but cannot replace it. Detection of food-specific IgE provides evidence of IgE sensitization, but a history of clinical reactivity to the food is necessary to diagnose IgE-mediated food allergy. Various forms of food hypersensitivity may not be associated with the presence of food-specific IgE in serum.

Alpha-Gal

This IgE panel measures the individual's response to alpha-gal and meats (beef, pork, and lamb) that trigger alpha-gal-associated meat allergy. It aids in diagnosing alpha-gal syndrome, a severe allergic reaction to mammalian meat induced by past tick bites, and helps evaluate the cause of meat allergies with delayed symptoms. IgE antibodies to alpha-gal likely mediate anaphylactic reactions in adults developing hypersensitivities to these meats.

Insect Venom

This panel tests for specific IgE antibodies to 5 insect venoms commonly linked to allergies. Allergen-specific serum IgE testing is comparable to skin testing and may be preferred in certain clinical situations. However, a positive test result only shows that a patient is sensitized to the allergen. Many IgE-sensitized individuals do not develop symptoms when exposed to the allergen.

Stinging Insects

This panel tests for specific IgE antibodies to 5 different stinging insects associated with allergies. Allergen-specific serum IgE testing is comparable to skin testing but only indicates sensitization, and many sensitized individuals may not develop symptoms upon exposure. A diagnosis of allergy should be made by a trained medical provider after a thorough clinical evaluation. Honey Bee, Paper Wasp, WH- Face Hornet, Yellow Hornet, Yellow Jacket

Lactose

The obtained results can help assess the lack of small bowel mucosal lactase, which could be linked to lactose intolerance. This condition is typically characterized by symptoms such as diarrhea following the consumption of milk.

Tick Borne Disease

The clinical overlap among tick-borne diseases caused by Anaplasma, Babesia, Borrelia, and Ehrlichia is substantial, with some infections potentially progressing to severe complications such as anemia, hepatitis, and pneumonia. It is worth noting that more than one infectious agent may be transmitted by the same tick, and the rates of co-infection are not well defined, as clinicians may only suspect a single tick-borne disease etiology.
